Please wait patiently. All efforts will be made by the agency to locate a suitable child for you this may take time - anything from 3 to 6 months, depending on the availability of children. This period is considered as the time between conception and the birth of a baby. This period allows a couple to get emotionally prepared for adoptive parenthood.
The social worker will arrange for you to see the child that has been identified for you.
Once you decide to adopt the child , it is important to get the medical re-examination done with a doctor of your choice to reassure yourself of the child's health.
When you finally decide, you have to meet a lawyer who will help you file all the required papers in court before you can take the child home in pre-adoptive foster care.
The social worker will assist you with all legal formalities and you may be rquired to attend court.
Documents related to the adoption wil be given to you by your lawyer, the decree, the Deed of adoption(if relevant) and the Birth affidavitof the child.
