We
had completed 13 years of married life with the initial period directed
at establishing our careers, myself as a profesional accontant and my
wife as a banker. We could accomplish this and provide reasonably for
ourselves within the first eight years and then we started getting the
feeling of
emptiness and our life went on in an uneventful and routine manner. As
years passed by without any visit by the stork we did think of adoption
but did not make up our minds.
We kept on feeling a deficiency, after going through so many medical treatments
which gave us physical trouble and took away our mental peace. We felt
that, even our relationship was becoming bitter. We started feeling a
vacuum in our life. My wife Chitra clearly told me that she does not want
to undergo any further treatments. She was more eager than me, to go for
adoption. We went to many people for proper guidence but people kept on
misguiding us - even the doctors.

We were mentally prepared to have our own child through adoption but were
not finding a proper person to guide us. In the meantime my freinds Sharmistha
and Kishore who had lost their second child, decided to go for adoption.
They adopted a 4 month old baby girl from Missionaries of Charities.
I still remember on 19th April'97 we went to see their loving daughter
"Dishari", she, quite befitting her name, gave us the final direction
and we finally decided to adopt a baby girl from Missionaries of Charities
With the blessings of the revered Mother Teressa's Missionaries of Charities
we got our dear, lovable "Aparna". Aparna has totally eliminated the emptiness
in our lives and has made our family complete. We now have a lot to look
forward to in life.
